The mechanical faculty students league in Timiºoara (LSFMT) is one of the very first organizations of students formed in Romania right in the same period as the december 1989 revolution.

LSFMT is a non-governmental, apolitical organization which’s purpose is reprezenting the interests and rights of students through specifical methods and throughout it’s reprezentators in different forums:

• Srudent Council
• Mechanical Faculty Council
• Polytechnical University Senat
• Polytechnical Students Organizations Convention
• Romanian National Students Organizations Alliance

Other activities:

• Student representation in relationship with central an local authorities
• Organizing youth oriented and youth  supporting actions
• The implication of students within the community life
• Offering anon-formal education for the organization member and young people in general
• The implication of students in sciintifical research
• Editing different student and youth related publications
• Developing connections with youth organizationd throughout the country based on the solidarity principals, without any political, religious or ideological boundries
• Informing the students about diferent ways of acheiveing academic scholarships
• Organizing work force fairs for terminal year students and not only.
• Organizing diverse actions having as a goal rising a civil spirit in the youth
